Printed circuit boards are laminates of copper and dielectric polymer layers used to mount electronic components and carry electrical signals and power between devices. Typical PCBs are made of fiberglass (called FR4) and can have multiple copper layers and many components. When used for high power LEDs, PCBs must be carefully designed to allow heat to be conducted away from the LED thermal pad.
